Entry Formalities

All visitors to Macau must hold a passport valid for at least 1 month (or more, depending on the visitor’s nationality) after arrival date, and a valid travel document. Some Nationals would need to apply for a visa or entry permit. Here is a list of Nationalities which can enter Macau without any visa or entry permit:

Bank / Foreign Exchange

The Pataca (MOP) is the official currency. The Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) also circulates in Macau.

Automatic teller machines (ATM) are available throughout the city. Almost all credit cards are accepted. Travelers’ cheques are accepted in most of the places (hotels, restaurants, shops, etc.).

Banks are generally open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm, and on Saturday from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm.
